Why should you hire a wedding consultant/planner?

All year round couples are planning weddings. All of which want them to be perfect! When you’re in the planning stages of one of the most important days of your lives, things can unexpectedly occur, the good and the bad. If your budget is on the tighter side and you’re worried you can’t achieve the “fairytale” dream wedding you’ve always wanted that doesn’t mean it can’t be perfect. There are thousands of items to include to give it the right mood and ambiance. Throughout the wedding planning process brides might be scrolling through Pinterest, Instagram and bridal magazines such as The Knot, Wedding Wire and so many more to get ideas of how to style your hair, make up and even how to present the seating chart at your reception. Social media has recently blown up with how to’s and tutorials that make it quite easy for couples to find what you need to make the day perfect for you + your soon-to-be spouse.

There are a number of reasons why hiring a wedding consultant is a good idea; a lot of couples want to do all of the planning and research for their wedding on their own. They want it to be special and everything they dream it to be. Some couples find out during or after the process of planning that some wedding tasks aren’t always the most fun nor is it stress-free. No bride wants to be stressing out over how her guests will arrive at the venue or reviewing contracts. When you hire a wedding consultant it doesn’t mean that they will necessarily take over the whole wedding planning process, unless you wanted them to, a wedding consultants job is to do as much or as little of the planning as you’d like. Whether you only want to hire them for ‘day of’ services, planning certain details, or planning every detail from the beginning, we do it all.

Wedding consultants don’t choose the dress for you, but if you like, they can accompany you while you try them on and give you advice along the way. As the wedding consultant, it is our duty to make sure your day is as stress-free as it can be.

Choosing vendors can be a tricky task. Most planning services have a list of vendors that they previously have worked with but they would recommend. Knowing what to look for in venues is also very important. Making sure you’re asking the right questions and getting exactly what you want is crucial. You don’t want to be paying for a magnificent cake and then finding out that it’s not the height or the exact design that you had imagined. Planning wedding is not a one and done thing. Planning a special day does indeed take time. There are so many details that need to be looked over, again and again to make sure that they are all in order. Especially if you’re working full-time and/or have children, you don’t want to come home and have a list of things to get done before the big day. Having a wedding consultant to take some of those things off your hands is definitely ideal.

Things do go wrong at the last minute, big and little. It’s rare that things go smoothly if you’re not sure about what you need/when you need it. Making sure all orders go through with the baker, all tables have the right amount of seats, cutlery, chair covers etc.… Extra hands do come in ‘handy’.

It can be difficult to find help. Some couples don’t want to seek help from family or friends if they don’t offer the help themselves. If you choose to seek professional help then you won’t have your soon-to-be hubby driving all over the countryside picking up cakes and last minute items. No one wants to be stressing out on one of the biggest days of their lives. Sit down and go over how much time, your budget amount and if you still need to hire professional help. It doesn’t cost anything to look into hiring a wedding consultant, after all, it could be an excellent way to achieve a less stressful and more fun wedding planning experience!
